VISN, pronounced "vision", stands for "Virtual Internet Supplier Network". VISN uses Web 2.0 technologies like meta-search, intelligent agents and web services that leverage the connectivity, community and content of the Internet to enable e-procurement.

The idea of VISN is to give user the simplicity of a consumer shopping experience while still providing the governance and compliance required by businesses, without the cost and complexity of traditional supplier networks.

All the content you see is coming right from the supplier's sites, real-time...no catalogs are loaded in VISN (although they can be for suppliers who don't have a web presence), and no punchouts were built.

Using VISN, you can search across supplier web sites, online catalogs and e-marketplaces from a single user interface. Using VISN, you can compare items, create purchasing lists and save carts. Using VISN, your suppliers and e-marketplace providers don't have to do anything to allow you access to their e-catalogs.
